"What you want to be eventually you must be every day. With practice the quality of your deeds will get down into your soul." Frank Crane
One of the most motivating and productive things an artist can do is to submit ones work to regular and vigorous critiques. My group has had various names over the years and our sessions don't always fit the same format, but without them I would not have produced so much or worked so hard to improve what I do. They make me better in many ways.
Our critique group consists of eight to ten dedicated artists who all have a connection with Kent State University. Our esteemed founder, teacher, and friend Thompson Lehnert is the glue that binds us together.

We began meeting more than 20 years ago, when some of us were students and others of us were Kent graduates in the teaching field, to critique and encourage one another in our individual artistic pursuits. Our goal has always been to motivate and inspire continued creative activity, and we still meet four or five times a year to present our current work for examination by our respected colleagues and friends.
Current members are Tom and Frances Lehnert, David King and John Smolko of Kent, Don Getz of Peninsula, Judy Bennett of Hudson, Dale Kutz of Litchfield, and Carol Klingel of Lodi.
